Islamabad is capital of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Its population is almost 1.74 million. It is 10th largest city of Pakistan. The city was built during the 1960s to replace Karachi as Pakistan's capital. Islamabad is located in the Pothohar Plateau in the north of the country. It is the most planned city of Pakistan.
