IRCC translation requirements for spouse sponsorship
Canadian spouse and family sponsorship files rely on legally recorded relationships and consistent family identity evidence. Nikah Nama, marriage registration, birth and prior-marriage documents should be translated as complete records.
Documents not in English or French should follow the translation package required by the current family-sponsorship guide and checklist. Relationship evidence and civil records can have different purposes, so every file should be identified accurately.
Requirements change. Check the current instructions from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before submission.
